Start with a quarterly calendar rather than a weekly scramble. One recurring event type, one seasonal moment, one content drop per quarter is enough to move retention for most casual titles.

Build the event once, parameterize it, and reuse it. Teams get into trouble when every event is bespoke code that only one engineer understands.

And communicate. A short in-game note and a community post cost almost nothing and consistently outperform silent updates in reactivation.
